Romantic Surprise Proposal in Montreal Old Port- Glenn & Shivani

I love all the types of photoshoots I do, but my heart always skips a beat when I receive an inquiry for a surprise proposal. I absolutely love the thrill of planning surprise proposals, the excitement when the moment to pop the question comes., and of course the celebration After. Glenn planned his proposal to his girlfriend Shivani during their visit from Atlanta.

Glenn and Shivani has been dating for 7 years and they often take weekend trips in different cities across North America. This time they chose Montreal for their visit and Glenn found the city’s European architecture a perfect backdrop to propose to his girlfriend.

He emailed me a week or so before their arrival to Montreal and mentioned that he would like me to secretly photograph him getting down on one knee and asking Shivani to marry him. He didn’t have a specific location in mind but because their hotel is in the old port, he booked a fancy dinner for 8.30pm to make sure his soon to be fiancé gets dressed for the occasion. And used the excuse “let’s take a walk before dinner and explore the local French architecture” to meet me at the agreed upon place.

The soon to be engaged couple walked down the boardwalk towards the water, where Glenn e got down on one knee and asked Shivani to be his wife. The answer was, “Yes!” accompanied with the applause of everyone at the bar terrace just across”

After the big moment, we took a short stroll to a quiet street in the Montreal Old Port, where to just engaged couple has some quiet moments to reflect upon the fact that they just got engaged. I had also already packed with me a bottle champagne and flute glasses before the shoot and after the proposal Glenn and Shivani popped it open to celebrate the occasion.
