Saint Joseph Oratory Elegant Sunset Engagement Session- Montreal Wedding Photographer
It is no secret that I LOVE photographing engagement sessions; they are a great way to get to know the couple and get them to practice being in front of the camera. It always make posing on the wedding day a lot easier. And most important of all , the couple has more flexibility when it comes to shooting location and time and that opens the door for the photographer to be more creative for the session. This session in particular has a killer location (Saint Joseph Oratory) and ideal shooting time (Golden hour at sunet).
I recommend that every couple considers these two aspects when deciding where to hold their engagement photoshoot and not to hesitate to ask the photographer for recommendations :)
When I first met Nora and Riles when they wanted to hire me as their wedding photographer in Montreal this summer, they told me about their proposal story in Saint Joseph Oratory. Since this place holds a special place in their heart, we chose as one of the locations for their engagement photoshoot (the other one being the old port, coming soon). I couldn't be happier shooting at Oratoire Saint Joseph because it is one of the best locations in Montreal to watch the sunset and no photographer would ever turn down the chance to shoot during the golden hour.
Since the first part of the engagement session with Nora and Riles was more casual, I suggested they dress a bit more formal for the second part. Especially because the architecture and the gorgeous stairs at the Saint Joseph Oratory would be the perfect backdrop for a more formal photoshoot. And to my pleasure, they did not disappoint ! Nora wore a gorgeous red dress with an exposed back and Riles dressed up in a beautifully tailored bleu suit with a red bowtie to match his wife to to be.
I LOVED every bit of this photoshoot and will be looking forward to Nora and Riles' wedding day to have some fun with them. Stay also tuned to our blog to see the part of their engagement session that was in the old port.
