Traditional Bengali Wedding at Century Weddings & Events in Ottawa Featuring Colorful Holud Outfits - Eliza & Salman
Eliza and Salman planned their Bengali Wedding in Ottawa over two days First day for the Holud and the second for the wedding reception at Century Weddings and Events. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to be chosen as their wedding photographer.
From the moment I first met them, I knew they would be a blessing to work which I confirmed after their two parts engagement shoot at the Canadian Museum of History (you can see it here) and Down’s Lake (you can see it here).
For the First day of Bengali wedding festivities, Eliza chose the most gorgeous and colourful traditional Bengali outfit and we did their first look and couple’s photos at the Experimental Farm in Ottawa. Eliza mentioned loving this location especially because it felt like Bengali countryside with all the corn fields. I was in awe of Eliza’s traditional look; her purple and yellow sari combined with flowers in her hair and traditional Bengali jewellery was just beautiful.
On the second day, we started with bridal prep where Eliza got to have some special moments with her parents and brother. I especially love her mom helping her put on her Dupatta and bangles. A very unique and cherished South Asian Tradition.
After the bridal prep, we headed to downtown Ottawa by Chateau Laurier and Major’s Hill park for bridal portraits which were perfect with the Parliament Hill in the background. We were blessed with great weather that day but at the end of the Bridal shoot, it started pouring and Eliza and Salman were literally the bravest couple I have ever worked with. They ran for the car and didn’t let the rain discourage from enjoying the rest of the day.
At Century Weddings and events, their wedding reception venue, we enjoyed a lovely evening filled with emotional speeches by family and friends and followed by an exciting dance party.
